The Holy Daan Ghati — Govardhan

Govardhan Hill is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in all of Vaishnava tradition. It is here that Lord Shri Krishna — the Supreme Personality of Godhead — lifted the entire mountain on the little finger of His left hand for seven days to protect the devoted residents of Braj from Lord Indra's wrath.

Daan Ghati is the spot on the Govardhan Parikrama path where Krishna, dressed as a toll collector, playfully demanded a "daan" (charitable offering) from the Gopis and their milk pots — a divine leela eternally cherished by all devotees.
